Maui

Destination Maui: My Favorite Hawaiian Island

Upon Arrival

  • Go to Costco and get stuff you may need for the trip (Kahului) after you get your car rental (get some Maui pineapple to cut up when you’re settled in at your lodging later)
  • If it’s a Saturday, check out the Maui Swap Meet (7am-1pm) [get some yummy banana bread, drink some fresh coconut] http://www.mauiexposition.com/MAUISWAPMEET.html

If you’re gonna go to Lanai, you probably want to reserve a whole day.  I’ve been there once and we just had time to go to the hotel (https://goo.gl/maps/EeqFpjkrqYsjuX3d8) and chill at the nearby resort beach Hulopoe (https://goo.gl/maps/SGQYaUNzwprbmBhCA)

I believe you have to rent a car if you want to explore the island with a 4-wheel drive vehicle.  These places looks cool to check out, but looking at a review, the roads may be bumpy and takes some time, so only for the patient lol : Garden of the Gods
