I’ll be sharing some resources I use during hiking season, which is usually Spring to Fall, depending on trail conditions.

Here are more useful websites to bookmark:

• Washington Trails Association (WTA) Recent trip report
• Mountains Forecast Check the weather before you head out and be prepared.  You never know with Mother Nature. 
• Ten Essentials Make sure you have at least these items in your backpack. 
• Backcountry Permits Reserve online
• Enchantment Area Permits 

Between May 15 and October 31, a permit is required for overnight use in the Enchantments. Permits allow the permit holder and their group to camp overnight in one of the five permit zones within the Enchantments Permit Area. The five permit zones are:

1. Core Enchantment Zone 
2. Snow Lake Zone
3. Colchuck Lake Zone
4. Stuart Lake Zone
5. Eightmile/Caroline Zone

• Passes/Permits  Find out whether you need a pass for the trails you choose from.  Pick 3 in the same area in case one might not be open. Refer to the WTA website to see which pass you need
• Gear REI should have most of what you need for adventures.
